Contrary to popular belief, Republicans are not bad people!

I fully believe this, as I once considered myself one. I have a lot of Republican friends, and they are not bad people either. Republican politicians, on the other hand, seem to embody exactly what it means to be a bad person. Not all, of course, but far too many to just be coincidence.

Would you knowingly vote for any politician, regardless of party, who voted “in favor” of gang rape? Crazy notion, right? Yet over 30 Republican senators actually did that very thing. So, I’m not saying you’re a bad person for being a Republican, far from it. I’m saying that you’re generally voting bad, greasy people who will actually let you get screwed over a buck. I’m saying the Republican Party has screwed you, and it sucks. I know, I’ve been there.

My greatest disappointment is that Senator John McCain, for whom I once held great respect for and who could have been president, voted against a bill that would deny funding to companies who restrict their employees from pursuing sexual assault, battery, and discrimination charges in court. Why? Because it affects Halliburton. That’s truly, undeniably sick.

A female contractor who was gang raped in Iraq was not allowed her day in court because of an employment agreement, and these senators felt that was just dandy with them. So how much are Republican senator souls selling for these days? Must be pretty damn cheap based on the incredibility of this vote. It really does bring to light just who could be bought.

Anybody still think I should reconsider my position on the GOP? Am I not being fair and balanced here? Oh, and guess what? I’m not seeing anything about this on Fox News as of yet. What a bewilderingly strange coincidence...

I’ll say it again, Lincoln would neither recognize nor support this Republican party. Does that mean I’m pro Democrat? Only by way of elimination; I have no political home. What I do know is that I could never support a candidate nor a party that sees this as OK. It comes down to human decency. The Republican Party isn’t just lost in the woods, their facing self inflicted eradication. All they can do is draw Hitler mustaches on their foes and hope for the best.

I feel really bad for Meghan McCain. She has to be really fed up with her party at this point.
